It has a fairly strong suction cup that works well on a windshield as specified but unless your dashboard is very smooth and flat then chances are it will not maintain a strong grip

I enjoy the magnetic connection and the hinge is rigid unlike other mounts where the hinge cannot support the weight of the phone
