Pros

Overall recommendation. This book provides a solid blueprint and the steps you can take to make friends with your mind.

We praise those gifted with natural athletic ability. But it takes work to improve one's athletic prowess, education, and relationships.

While the book favors anecdotes over clinical research, dweck's theories make intuitive sense to me. She writes clearly and illustrates her points with studies and her own research group results. For me, two concepts highlight the power of mindset.

I have spent the majority of my life always trying to be that great humble pie guy. The encourager, the helper, the turn to guy for support. This is a whole new way of thinking and interacting with others for me.



Cons

Like other reviewers, i agree that the idea that moving from a fixed mindset towards a growth mindset is beneficial, but that the book is very repetitive with its examples.
