Pros & Cons

Pros

The performance i get out of this tool meets all my needs and expectations. Looks bulky but still fits in tight spaces. Perfect for small stuff.

Despite its ugly appearance and my embarrassment when i use it in front of other carpenters, it is a great tool. But these are all minor complaints and in no way detract from my satisfaction with the tool.

Cons

Nails jam constantly, poorly thought out design, horribly unbalanced, jams frequently. Misfires frequently. Seems like it doesnt want to shoot upside down. Other times it misfires every other trigger pull.

This is the only mikita product i regret purchasing. It was literally a complete waste of money.

The tool is uncomfortably heavy and awkward to use. It is also very cumbersome. Not as heavy as a compressor, but not dependable.

This gun is too expensive, too heavy, too unreliable. This product is generally unreliable for heavier duty applications. I own countless cordless makita tools but these guns are a big swing and a miss for makita!

Quality

I’m happy with the purchase but i use it for the convenience factor as a support tool

But these are all minor complaints and in no way detract from my satisfaction with the tool

My only advice is to use quality usa made brads

It’s a makita so as far as i’m concerned the product quality is expected to be 5star and apparently is

Price

The best part by far is leaving the air compressor needed to run a typical brad nailer behind that in itself justifies the price

Competitiveness

Gives a proffesional finish to your job

I have an extensive collection of the makita 18v tools this is a great addition

The 10 one star reviews here on amazon made me look at nailers of other brands despite all my cordless tools being makita

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It sinks nails consistently causing no visible tearout or marring only once have i had to sink a nail manually

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It is quite heavy and i only have 3 and 5 ah batteries but not heavy enough to work properly without pushing it on to the work piece

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

However if you push too hard you displace the plastic protective cap on the nose which risks marring minor in the one case it happened to me

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Features which could be better a second light lighting the other side of the nose the depth control is stiff to operate the battery indicator could be graduated and the balance could be improved it feels back weighted even without the battery

I dont know what kind of experience the negative reviewers had but not much i would imagine

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I suggest that practice on something that is not going to be used and take a few minutes to get it adjusted correctly

I am not a handy man i am not a professional i am not a wood worker
