Pros & Cons
Pros
Quality and inexpensive product. Once it's together, it's solid and feels very secure. It appears to be well made and sturdy enough to use on job sites.
Used this to make a heavy duty 7 foot extension cord for hooking up my rv to an inverter. Accepts heavy gauge cord. Between the heavy use and my knuckle head employees the male plugs need to be replaced.
Easy to wire and look great on my 1930s machinery wiring upgrade. The design of this plug makes it easy to wire, no hassle. First remove one wire screw at a time, make a u with your wire and lay it on the platform, and then screw it down.
Cons
Attempted to fix with a larger screw and the whole ground prong separated from the housing. This is difficult to do with three heavy gauge wires in a confined space. Surprised leviton makes this cheaply designed plug.
Highlights
Quality
It appears to be well made and sturdy enough to use on job sites
The plug is well built and easy to install
This piece has a grommet like rubber seal inside to resist water entry
The pieces are then screwed together and the end is clamped to the cord
Price
Not a cheap feel at all and it was better than i expected at this price
Inexpensive and easy repair to an electrical cord when the ground pin pulls out
Far cheaper to replace a cord cap rather than buy a new cord
Packaging/appearance
Not in package but not damaged in any wayrugged durable very easy to assemble and says leviton stamped in the metal
Competitiveness
Tried 4 other brands and this was the best
If you dont need weatherproof 515pv is a cheaper alternative
It seems better overall in value than other inexpensive nema 155p parts
