Pros

The $300 premium is an investment if you plan to upgrade in a few years. The one downside is the need to carry the separate flash unit. Only disappointment is the free version of adobe lightroom is really just a 90 day trial as it's now cloud based so...  Read More

All the elements of a traditional camera in a compact size with leica logo. The evf is outstanding for a camera this size. I wanted a camera small enough that i could throw into my briefcase so it would always be there. Like i say — your mileage may v...  Read More

The leica d-lux 109 has a 4/3 mos sensor and a 24-75mm (35mm equivalent) lens. The lens is sharp as far as i can tell, but my m-camera is a lot heavier and wider and requires large and heavy lenses. It's not really that big of a deal, but i think the ...  Read More

Lcd display is sharp and easily readable. Bokeh is super creamy and appealing. There seems to be something aesthetically pleasing about the way they look.

Service is personal, no long phone queues and the best i've ever dealt with! Wifi app is cool too. Only complaint is the pics and movies now need a new home on icloud or biggg hard drives. I wish it didn't take so long to start up.

Cons

Camera costs more than $10,000. This d-lux was bought and quickly returned.

Quality

Furthermore i have owned multiple micro four thirds cameras and i am happier with the quality of images from the dlux 109

The design of the camera and more importantly the quality of the photographs are both amazing

Im less pleased with the leica software which wirelessly moves files from the camera to my ipad

Once or twice in the month that i have had the camera ive had trouble with the lens cap

Price

Though for the price i prefer the panasonic

Packaging/appearance

This little camera has it all especially all important settings on the camera and not buried in the menu

Competitiveness

Its the exact same battery as the leica battery at less than half the price

It appears to be a serious contender in the mirrorless camera category at a hefty price

You also receive a 3year warranty instead of a 1year warranty

It does not have a typical leica 3yr warranty

The size and the zoom range made it a ‘carry everywhere’ and ‘inconspicuous’ camera which meant i was able to get many shots that would have been challenging for me on the nikon
