The reviews are correct theres an air gap at the top between it and the exterior lid and stuff flies out goes everywhere and takes forever to get out of the motor base

I never write reviews or give feedback for institutions on how there doing but i must tell everyone i’ve had this kitchenaid grinder for over three years i grind frozen chaga chunks if people know what they are they are very hard great for the immune system i grind my own coffee beans and combine the two i have overloaded this machine and i have locked it up unlocked it it’s like a time max it just keeps on grinding no matter what a must say for the hard coffee drinker with a healthy note for charge mushroom it’s a must have going to order another one for a back up this thing can’t last forever the way i treated it’s been over three years it only has a one year warranty thank you kitchenaid it must’ve been built on a payday

These pins have to fit into their holes or you can not push the cap down far enough to start the grinder motor

In that event you will need another plastic cap and i dont know if kitchenaid sells replacement parts
