Pros & Cons
Pros
The king 1000 grit stone is a must have for any diy knives sharper. This is the best knife sharpener we've every had! It has a base with rubber on the feet which makes sharpening petty easy.
The size that it comes in is pretty generous compared to what is available at similar prices. My only concern and not a complaint per say, is that is is narrow at about 2 inches wide. Grab this and a 6000 if you're starting out, they're both great.
Not a 2-sided stone so it should last twice as long. I'm fine that the stone is glued to it because i flatten the stones when i need to.
Cons
This stone is sub-par. Even after 24-48 soaking, the stone is not making a nice slurry when sharpening like it should.

The unfortunate thing is that it is glued to a cheap hard plastic base and you can’t access both sides of stone

Nonsensical design but would be tolerable if the base itself were slip resistant
