I ran it thru the washing machine before i gave it to my daughter and also dried it and it held up just fine

This is very nice quality the crochet stitching is perfect and does look as though is handmade as stated it is long enough for any child and almost any adult however it is not very big around i am a little on the heavy side at 53 and weight of 165 and i stretch it out but of course my 6 year old has no trouble so as long is for child will be fine the yarn is soft and feels nice it is easy to get your feet and legs in and out as it is slit in the back not solid i will attach pictures showing the slit and how tall it is they are against a queen size bed for reference as you can see by the pictures i uploaded the color is off from what is advertised it is purple not pink but that is not a big deal to me or my daughter

From there it is split in the back and vs out allowing you to fan the blanket out on top of you

When reading the size of the blanket remember to take into account the tail about 12 as their feet do not go into this section it is for decoration only

This means if the blanket is 53 long the blanket is only going to cover about 4041 measuring from your childs toes up
