Regardless of all of those you have to give crockford the credit for helping to take js to a new level that most js devs were not thinking about at the time of its writing

This book provides a good if rather dense overview of best practices when writing javascript code including criticism of some of the features that are likely to cause issues and as such are better avoided

Concise and to the point its not only a book on javascript its also about good programming language design

Javascript the good parts promised to be a good introduction to the latter so i checked it out from the library

Then he tells you to throw away all that and switch to the selflike prototypesbased objectoriented language instead

Reading the amazon reviews it seems like most of the people who rate this book badly do not have the required background i mentioned above

Our company reading group read through this book it has some basic concepts but overall it is not very useful for current javascript development
