If the coat dries before your hike ends you can easily pour more water over it on the fly to restore its effectiveness

How long it takes to dryout depends on if you soak the coat before use or just run water over it

After use you will want to hang the coat where there is adequate ventilation to dry as hanging it in the shower will likely result in a mustiness
