As others have found holding the thermostat during installation will increase the display temperature because your hand is heating up the thermostat

I ordered the one that was the old style because that was the one i had in my house thinking i would not have to install the backplate and just snap in the front wrong i paid more money and had to wait an extra day for the old style over the new style
