Once the clicker is synced with the bluetooth on your phone the first time it automatically responds when you click it while the camera is on your screen and automatically turns off when not in use

Usually when i am taking a picture from this far away i will click the button many times just in case the signal does not go through for one of them

Then in the later uses it will take a click or two to activate the clicker and reconnect it with your phones bluetooth
