Spirit's new-for-2017 personal item size is 18 x 14 x 8 in. Quick access laptop pocket is a very nice for ease of access to your laptop.

The straps for tightening the sides are nice, and the waist strap can be tucked away. While it's not a massive difference it makes it feel a little more cramped. The phone case on the shoulder strap is surprisingly useful.

Cons

High sierra backpack was good while it lasted but i won't be buying another one.

Great value for about 50 bucks 2014 price

I was looking for a no frills backpack in this price range and this one can fit my lunch snacks and gym clothes shoes with room to spare

For under 55 you are getting abargain

Not a deal breaker for me i just fold the flap back

I took it on a 7 day hiking trip and was able to fit all of my clothes plus a change of shoes

If the bag is packed it gets pretty tight but in a pinch you can put stuff in there even if its packed

This is my second high sierra backpack and they are such good quality comparable to more expensive brands

Last backpack was high sierra from costco and this one has even more room than that one
