Pros

The herco lid helps control the humidity while in the case. The only negative is that you really don't know/can't see that it's doing anything, aside from it drying out every couple of weeks.

It fits in guitar case without harming the instrument. Use it for my cello. Works great for mandolins, easily keeps humidity inside the case at 40-45%.

This combo keeps my children between 48 and 52%. It was recommended by my guitar tech and luthier. Good results.

Cons

When completely dry it soaks up about half a teaspoon after a few minutes. Could not get above 30% humidity. It's clay that you wet and there are two small holes in the top.

This is the first amazon purchase i've made that truly disappointed me. The picture gives the impression that a unit consists of 6 humidifiers, but i only got one.

Once the humidity is above 45 i resoak the herco with the open lid then leave all the lids closed to slow the moisture release

In order to maintain 4550 case humidity i currently have 5 hercos an oasis oh6 and oh1 and the humicase lid disk
