First time using henna for hair. Let it sit for about and hour while cooking food in kitchen because it was hotter there than in the whole house. Works well and lasts. Here are some notes if you are on the fence about trying this.

I'm allergic to chemicals in popular men's hair coloring products, but this has caused no irritation at all.

Smells better than normal henna like a sweet earthy flower. I add a little bit of good smelling oil to the powder to make it smell better.

The consistency and smell are very similar to chewed up seaweed. The smell is overpowering even after you rinse it out.
