Holes are 16 on center so you can screw into two studs for maximum strength

Also there was a scrape in the backing that was clearly there before the finish was applied

That was when i realized that the geniuses who designed this thing specifically placed the screw holes on either side of it to be the exact width apart as the standard spacing for wall studs in modern houses in california anyway

Makes it much easier to mount something like this rather than putting the screws in the wall then awkwardly trying to hang the thing on screwmounts on the back
