    However diamond is rather clear in the book and certainly since that he is painting a picture in broad strokes and that his theory is exactly that a theoretical account of how geography epidemiology and technological discoveries shaped the rise and spread of civilizations expounded upon in clear beautiful writing for a fundamentally academic book it is quite engaging and easily accessible to the more casual reader something that cant be said for the followup book collapse

    Imo there should be a special audio book thats shorter and more of a summary where the book would have all the detail theoriesfacts
