After getting an expensive set of precision screw extractors i got the screws out and the battery in only to discover the the power connector had also been sabotaged at the factory via an injection of plastic into the connector which broke unevenly when the old battery was removed and prevented the new connector from seating

The replacement kit worked but just wasnt to the dirty tricks used to force the consumer to wastefully buy another phone when the battery dies
