Necessary accessory if you want to place the camera any distance away from power outlet

The camera power supply already steps down the power to 5v which is about what the camera needs

Alternately you can use a regular extension cord to cover some distance and then use the cameras power supply withwithout extension cable

This cable is long enough for extension but unfortunately i have to return due by i return the foscam camera

The cable provided with the camera itself is entirely too short and its a shame you have to buy a proprietary extension cable to correct that mistake

If you get a cam you will need this since the cam comes with a 6 foot cord that will barely reach from my desk to the outlet
