Pros & Cons
Pros
The faber-castel watercolor pencils are great for plein air art. They are easy to use and great for beginner artists. The brush symbol means that the pencil is professional quality.
Watercolor pencils are creamy and rich in pigment. They are lightfast and easy to use like a colored pencil. The w&n tend to not dissolve all the way which is great if that's your preference and want to see your drawing even after adding water.
The colors are so vivid, and they melt beautifully. They are incredibly vibrant and pigmented.
Cons
The brown pencil was broken. Some of the lead was worn flat on one side. Now it is totally impossible to close the box tightly.
Highlights
Quality
They blend wonderfully the color spreads beautifully and they are well made
I own many of their art materials and find them all to be of superior quality
I tried the michael’s brand and they barely disolved under water so i spluged and bough these
If youre getting into watercolor splurge for these
Price
In my personal opinion you get way more value than you pay for
If low on funds invest in small sets like i did and mix and blend those colors until your hearts content
The only reason this did not get a 5star review was the price
Packaging/appearance
Item was wrapped in bubble wrap no box so the metal box the pencils came in was destroyed
The tin box is a perfect container for the pencils but difficult to open
Competitiveness
These are quality brushes and in fact superior to most other brands out there
But i’ve tried other brands and these watercolor pencils are by far the best i’ve tried anyway
I even like them better than the wn that i bought at the same time
I cant compare this to any other product but they do perform well for me
