Verified the voltage of both old and new batteries and they were fine

Checked the contacts for corrosion or lack of contact with the battery ends and they too were fine so i can only surmise the issue is with the internal circuitry of the remote itself which is problematic as the lights i have being plugged into each outlet arent easily accessible

Besides which it is very helpful to be able to turn on a light in an otherwise dark room when entering which i cant access and which necessitated the use of these devices in the first place
