This emberlit cannot be used with hexamine fuel tablets because there is no top shelf insert for this stove

In addition raising the trangia up that distance creates a nice updraft in the frame that allows for an even better efficiency of fuel usage and the inwards slanting sides of the emberlit frame focuses the heat and flames directly to the bottom of the pot

Remember the flames are coming up strong and hot and you cannot slip the simmer ring onto the burner from the side and there is no handle on the trangia simmer ring to protect your hands from getting burned when you try to drop it down onto the burner

More often than not just trying to drop the ring onto the burner from above will result in a miss and the ring will bounce off the top of the burner and do nothing

I appreciate that this knife is small enough to hang around your neck and stays locked in tight in the sheath but it can be removed with one hand when wearing it
