It probably would’ve lasted longer but i accidentally left it plugged in and my mom tripped over it yanking it out from my computer which made it stop working the wires were beginning to come apart from the computer end plug before that but it still worked up until then

Prying that box open was the hardest part of the whole operation

Oce you pry it open you break the seal then you have to repair the seal with some glue or fasteners of some kind

The only difference was that the outer metal shell was not connected to ground like in the original cable this did not seem to make a difference since the outer 2 pins of the 5 pin connector are ground

It had broken where the thinner part of the cable joins the reinforced part at the top of the power supply

Just need wire snips to cut the old cable off either wire strippers or carefully cut back the old wire so youll have a spot to solder the new wire to then some white electrical tape to hold the box back together when you put it all back together
