Still a great design but am sad about the lost pocket and less space
Here is what you gain with the newest model over the pre2019 model much lighter in weight

No orings to attached stuff to on the outside

When comparing the new backpack is just a touch narrower in footprint and possibly just a touch shallower when the expander option is not open

I actually received the older style even though the description says bags are the new updated style

I know some reviewers were angry that they got the old style when its supposed to be the updated bag and theyre absolutely right to be upset according to the product description and what they thought they were buying

Per description it is at 800 where the previous one was most likely at 1000
