Center is clear and looks like glass but it is not breakable

When i first opened the box i must admit that i was a bit disappointed

The only problem we found and why we knocked one star is because it can be difficult to remove the end caps they should have created a notch or indentation on the cap our solution was to leave the caps off at all times

The couple times it was knocked over it didnt show any wear from it

All of the others i owned in the past either had such a small opening you had to use a small funnel to pour through which was very difficult

Or the opening had a part of the grinder mechanism running though it that caused the seeds to spill out when you tried to pour into them
