The only way that this unit helped to correct the purple screen was with the use of the power adapter along with the unit

So i couldnt stream from my elgato capture card since the hdcp protection caused it to not work if you tried to use the hdmi port

Additionally the fact it needs an extra power cord kinda sucks but its nothing an inexpensive power strip cant fix

Doesnt seem to notice any copy protection schemes and keep you from splitting the signal

Works well as an hdmi splitter but please note that the unit i received on 06152017 does not strip hdcp
