It does read instantly but its not a accurate reading on the internal temperature of the meat

But this time i was able to insert the thermometer in to chicken and once the temp reached the preset temp i had it beeped letting me know that it had reached those 180 degrees needed to be properly cooked

To turn off the device you just close the probe back into the reader itself
