Pros & Cons
Pros
Touch screen focus is handy combine with touch screen shutter release. Think of it as a larger version of their zoom and shutter button. There's no shutter button and believe me it is easy to use.
This little gem is a must for capturing photos from great creative angles. The tilt display alone makes it far superior to any camera phone on the market. This helps when taking photos when holding the camera over your head or down low, but will not m... Read More
The weight makes for a sturdier more stable hold while shooting. The nubs on the sides are for a wrist or neck strap.
It is small, compact and i like the flip of viewer. Nice zoom.
All features work as prescribed. P&s camera is very easy to use and the touch screen is intuitive. It has lots of cool features some of which i am still learning about.
Cons
Multi-photo ‘creative shots’ feature is useless in my opinion. It adjusts the iso way too high for a decent looking picture while in auto. While in p it adjusts the shutter way too slow with a lower iso.
It just is a difficult little *. Other basic feature are hugely anti-intuitive. I was fooled. It's not intuitive.
Canon customer service does nothing to help diagnose the problem unless the camera is mailed in to a remote canon service center. I also find the wifi capability a pain in the neck to use.
Despite the touch screen the navigation is very badly designed. Controls are very small, too small, and menus are not simple to use. Flip display moves only 90 degrees and not suitable for selfees.

I havent gotten any over exposed washed out shots yet
Competitiveness
I looked at the listings for this camera and its successor the n2 and thought both of them had a viewfinder that flipped up but i was wrong
The zoom actually goes pretty far compared to other point and shoots
Another difference between the n and n2 is the wifi connection
