Just used with water and after awhile mold would come into mouth peice. For cold ice water, my daughter's old oxo seem to work better. Designed to be removable for cleaning, but it came off repeatedly when my kid was just drinking from it.

There is a * taste to it, the insulation is mediocre at best, and the valve is noticeably dirty within a few days of use. It really does not keep my ice water cold even fitted with a outside jacket.
