From what i can tell the light show cannot be disabled

The battery life doesnt seem to be that great either though thats probably down to the size of the device

My jbl speaker lasts easily 3x as long although it costs more than 5x as much and is a good bit larger so its understandable

Mine seems to say low battery via a voice that interrupts the audio playing about 30 seconds before the thing totally shuts off from a dead battery
