I always wash my sponges when i remove from factory packaging regardless of brand and i bought the solid cleanser with this item to be able to properly up keep it well i wet the sponge and gve it a few good squeezes before dampening it and usinf the cleanser the due began coming out of the sponge my solid cleanser bar was pink the water in the sink looked like liquid pepto
