I am very satisfied with the purchase
Very pleased with the ease of setup and use
It really does work as advertised on a mac and the video quality of the finished transfer was no worse than the original vhs tape
I purchased the avermedia system thinking it may be too complicated and i might have to return it
Packaging/appearance
Since the area surrounding the usb connector is a little oversized a short extension is included in the packaging
Competitiveness
The others may be cheaper but having used avermedia products previously im glad i chose this one
My purpose in purchasing this item was to transfer some old anolog tapes to a digital format
Just download the avermedia software and plug in the camera

I did not experience any issue with sound and video not being in sync that other reviewers commented im guessing that was probably due to their computer lacking the processor speed andor ram

All you have to do it install the software which can be a pain but does the job and connect the usb to whatever you want the vcr or a camcorder
