This adapter works great if you need a passive adapter but not if you need an active adapter

I use this with a surface pro 4 but any mini display port would work

I ordered this adapter connected it to the laptop and to the vga port on the projector and selected the mirroring image on the macbook

Just set both monitors for the same resolution

To attach to a laptop drivers were required and it took some effort to figure it out as there are no instructions but once i figured it out it worked fine
