Pros

The alvin 6 1/2 bow compass gets the job done. If your looking for a rugged quality compass you can tote around in the field, i have no problem recommending this drafting instrument.

It comes with 2 spare pencil leads, but you can buy more. Easy to adjust pencil lead length.

It's quite sturdy, and has a satisfying weight in the hand. It is very sturdy and durable he says. It holds its position really well because of the screw-type adjusters.

Perfect tool, very beneficial in my engineering coursework. I still have and use this in my engineeering classes & it works great! Great range. I am no professional but so will work perfectly for what i need it to do.

The expansion wheel rides seamlessly; no slipping.

Cons

Was trying to draw a 12 inch diameter circle. The plastic screw breaks easy. The middle screw is broken after first use. It is useless now!
