Saltwater is also a natural electrolyte, adding to the issue of using electronics around saltwater. For a speaker it is very durable and it is actually waterproof so i never have to worry about the weather effecting it's performance.

This is my first bluetooth speaker and i have been exceptionally satisfied with it. The rubber jacket that surrounds it is quite substantial. Feels sturdy and durable.

It charges a phone. I have it paired with my phone, my tablet, and and my laptop. It syncs easily from my iphone or from my sons ipod touch! It has a jack on the back and even comes with a short stereo cable.

Bluetooth distance leaves some to be desired. I am only able to move my phone about 10-15 away before the connection become shaky. They are not responsive.
