My previous toilet seat was actually broken and it sat on two screws on either hinges that were supposed to keep it in place but one of the hinges were broken and the seat just wasnt secure at all since it would detach itself from the two screws if you shift yourself while sitting on it

Only problem is that you cant use one of the old fashioned seat covers on it very well since the top is very thin and the cover bulk pushes the seat forward making it want to start closing on some toilets this is only a problem for men

I bought this to replace a much more expensive slow close toilet seat the old one broke after about a year
