However i have a word of caution thoughi put my original boot drive in this caddy and another in its original place when i ran osx mavericks from the drive in the caddy it would freeze when it would attempt to sleep from either shutting the lid or timing out

Other than that it was fine it was also slightly slower due to being ide interface and not sata

I do not necessarily think the caddy is the issue here so much as the os because it operates just fine unless you send it to sleep

Btw if you dont know already taking apart an 08 15 mbp is not a simple task

This is what happened to me and eventually the cable popped off the mother board

So i had to open it back up and crease the cable a little more so it would stay attached

Once i did that it was fine and stayed plugged in

Was a little nervous about this product partially because i hadnt before taken my mbp apart
