Since my 2016 tiguan has a prewired factory 7way plug under the bumper in a dummy socket just waiting to be plugged into the vw trailer hitch kit 5n0092135 available at amazon for less than the dealer i thought the tiguan was all set up as far as being wired to tow a trailer

I bought the tow ready 20142 adapter thinking that may do the trick given the led lights on the trailer but it did not work and i needed this kit

So five stars for functionality but just seems like a heck of a cost 500 for parts and labor to wire a tow vehicle thats already prewired
