The grommet isnt a big deal but the pin connector essentially makes one of the plugs a 2way rather than a 3way

The connector has held up in below zero temperatures road salt frozen in icesnow caked in mud and withstood 3000psi pressure washer

The biggest objection reviewers have of this connector is the lack of directions

The manual mentions several tools for assembling and disassembling these connectors but the only special tool you need to assemble them is a proper crimper

You can even solder the terminals and make crude crimps with needlenose pliers but that is very slow

The yellow grommet goes around the wire insulation then the part of the pinsocket that crimps onto the wire insulation also crimps over top of the yellow grommet
