You do need a slick surface the bottom needs bigger glide pads it makes a noise from the friction as it moves mice dont

In use the top button is a toggle button click left for the usual control click and right for the traditional menu popup

Coupled with that the stem 3rd button will scroll in some programs with word but it will also perform a standard click action too

I was very open to trying the 3m ergo mouse and then abandoning it if i did not like it but this was not the case
